Journal Entry 2
Date: 7. 3. 2024
Activity:
- Installed Unity and Platformer gamekit
- Tested factions mentioned in the tutorial
-Looked at already existing levels for inspiration
-I tried to play with lighting in my level and changing camera light to make more darker atmosphere, but badly visible environment doesn't mean better gameplay
-Got an idea to use pushing crates on pressure pads for effect
-Sadly the pads had very weird collider preventing the crate to be pushed on them, yet the crate could still be dropped on them.
-Got an idea with boss battle where you need to press pads and platforms will move spitters away. Sadly, I couldn't figure out how to change anything with platforms except start and stop(which weren't permanent as I wanted).
-In next level I wanted to make a level where player would have to guess the correct doors to enter. After implementing, I realised that his kind of gameplay isn't fun.
Notes:
When I get more time I need to look more into the scrip controlling platform and maybe add a function that could change platform speed which could be used to pad.
I noticed, that some sprites were missing texture.
I am not sure if I should make Journal Entry 2.1 if I continue working on the second level.
